Park Pride is a nonprofit organization working for more and better parks all over Atlanta. Park Pride matches every dollar in direct support with thousands of volunteer hours, grants for park improvements, and tens of thousands of dollars in donated services and materials. Through a diverse range of programs and the extremely efficient allocation of its resources, in 2009 Park Pride:
- Opened Atlanta’s newest park – 2 acre Vine City Park
- Created Atlanta’s largest dog park, and the first dog park outside of Piedmont Park, in South Bend Park
- Built 4 community gardens in City of Atlanta parks
- Transformed Spink Collins Park through the addition of a mile of walking trails, a new outdoor classroom, and the creation of an informal meadow
Through the Parks Atlante Rescue Coalition, Park Pride also leads a diverse coalition of park, community and environmental organizations working to increase public support for parks and expand our park system. P.A.R.C. currently is promoting the Act to Save Atlanta's Parks (ASAP)! - a plan to improve Atlanta's economy, safety and health.
