The Vine City Civic Association was founded with the overall mission of providing a neighborhood organization dedicated to coordinating area residents and businesses as well as faith-based, cultural, and educational institutions. We are looking for organizations that assist with design policies and programs to improve neighborhood quality of life including, but not limited to: public safety, human services, environmental management, green space, housing, economic, development, preservation, and education. Recently, a sector plan was developed in Vine City to provide a greater sense of safety and opportunities for residents to get to know one another and share common concerns and ideas. This community organizing strategy is designed to foster leadership at the true grassroots level. The community has been divided into six areas called sectors. Each sector will be given the charge of coming together and determining projects based on common goals, interests and concerns of the group. Projects may range from neighborhood watches, to beautification programs, to planting community gardens, or youth projects.
Vine City is made up of six (6) different sectors designed to encourage residents to organize around issues that have the greatest affect on their sub-area within the neighborhood. _idealist.org
